Wayne S. Moore, President
Mr. Moore has eighteen years of professional experience in the management, design, and construction of new, and in the retrofit of existing, industrial, commercial and government facilities. His responsibilities as a senior Civil/Structural Engineer and Project Engineer/Manager have included all phases of management, design, and construction of complex environmental, civil, structural and architectural projects. His projects have included the preliminary and final design of waste storage facilities, commercial office and retail facilities, chemical process and industrial facilities, detention and sediment storage basins, mezzanine/access platforms, stairs, pipe bridges, equipment supports, elevators/material lifts, material handling/conveying systems, dock/marina facilities, firing ranges, tower and stack structures, prisons, schools, roadways and recreational facilities. Mr. Moore is proficient in the static and dynamic analysis of structures subjected to natural phenomena (wind and seismic) loads using STAAD, STRUDLE, and SAP. He is knowledgeable of DOE, DOD, COE and commercial building codes including the IBC, IRC, UBC, SBC, BOCA and CABO. Additionally, Mr. Moore is familiar with the requirements of cited design criteria including those published by ASCE, ACI, NCMA, AASHTO, AISC and AITC.
Wayne Moore is a Registered Professional Engineer licensed to practice in multiple states. He is active in technical and civic organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers and Rotary International. Mr. Moore has also been active in specialty technical organizations including the American Concrete Institute, the Structural Engineers Association and the International Concrete Restoration Institute. He is a past member of the Aiken County Planning Commission. He is backed by a staff of highly qualified professional technical and administrative personnel.

John R. Smilak, Senior Structural Designer
Mr. Smilak has over 20 years experience in design and analysis with several major corporations in Engineering and Plant Design with special abilities in construction methods and related activities, which include planning, scheduling, walk-down and inspection. He is proficient in the operation of UNIX, DOS and Windows operating systems – specializing in the use of MicroStation and AutoCAD software. Mr. Smilak’s design experience across all engineering disciplines – architectural, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, piping, and structural. His structural engineering experience includes design and analysis for various commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural and government projects. He is responsible for designing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber design and analysis, seismic analysis, technical specification writing, conceptual design and feasibility study report writing, construction site inspections, and value engineering evaluations.

§ Performed design and layout of foundation and slab for 150,000 square foot production storage facility at Horizon West Industrial Park. Design included developing AutoCAD drawings with plan sections and details. Design included the use of pre-cast concrete panel walls.
§ Performed walk down and as-built of lift devices for John Deere Commercial Products in Grovetown, Georgia. As-built information was developed into CAD sketches for analysis and certification.
§ Designed numerous pharmaceutical plant upgrades for Pfizer Corporation, Augusta, Georgia including pipe racks, transformer containments, monorails and walkway roofing system. Created AutoCAD construction drawings and reviewed work as it progressed.
§ Performed site inspection and construction support for a new 55,000 square foot Country Inn Motel and Suites including Conference Center. Inspected foundations, footings, structural steel and architectural work. Reviewed shop drawings and pay requests. Generated field sketches as required to facilitate construction.
§ Responsible for the layout and design of structural steel, concrete and masonry construction. Layout included multiple-discipline coordination, ease of installation, cost-estimates, and file maintenance (such as the generation/translation of electronic CADD files for clients). Designed a multitude of structural components for industrial manufacturing facilities, including building additions, tank and silo foundations, monorails, T-Poles, pipe racks, pipe supports, conduit supports, and platforms. Secondary responsibilities included CADD Coordination and support for all engineering disciplines.
